Cary Keesler

Let's Meet

I'm Cary, A Science Research Student At Pawling High School

I am enrolled in my school’s Science Research Program, which is a three-year, college-level research course with accreditation from SUNY Albany. Students selected for this exclusive program choose a research topic that they are passionate about, and are then required to create and execute an original, scientific experiment related to their area of interest, with the guidance of a mentor in the field.

I have read a plethora of peer-reviewed articles involving types of bacteria causing biofilms and how to minimize/better understand the mechanism of their effects on corrosion.  I am fascinated by researching corrosion and investigating potential ways to minimize or inhibit the causes of biofilm specifically as well as other issues in corrosion.

I am a diligent student who has enrolled and excelled in all possible honors-level courses offered at Pawling High School. I am involved in my school’s Chess Team, Debate Team, Math Team, and many more clubs. I also participate in the Peer Leadership Program that is offered by my high school, in which students provide service all around the town of Pawling and assist their peers within the High School.
